PV ModuleTech 2021-Best Practices QAQC for Superior Bankability
The best practices for superior bankability presented by Frédéric Dross,STS at PV ModuleTech 2021. The best practices for superior bankability are: - Assessment of Suppliers/Products - Qualification of Suppliers/Products - Control and Issuance of a Certificate of Conformity For the “Control” phase during manufacturing, the recommendations are: - Use only accredited inspection bodies - Use a widely-accepted QA/QC “Standard” for criteria and requirements - Be present in factory 24/7
Ask Mayfield Anything: Data-Drive Risk Mitigation for Solar Assets
Reliable in-field operation over the 25- to 40-year service life of a solar asset is not a coincidence. In this month's roundtable discussion, we explore the benefits of a data-driven approach to risk management based on lot-specific laboratory testing and pre-shipment factory inspection. David Brearley and Ryan Mayfield from Mayfield Renewables are joined by Frédéric Dross from Senergy Technical Services (STS), Danny Seagraves from Willis Towers Watson, and Cherif Kedir from the Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC). Roundtables Europe 2021 | Cornerstone 1 | Quality
Roundtables Europe 2021 | Cornerstone 1 | Maintaining quality alongside rapid technological development Rapid cost reductions have set the stage for the dramatic expansion of solar in Europe over the next decade. Rising efficiencies and increasing power outputs have been drivers of cost declines and 2021 has seen the adoption of larger cell and module formats, pushing wattages to previously unheard of highs. However, with new technologies comes risk and the manufacturers of large format modules have employed a host of new processes and materials often on new production lines. For project developers and EPCs, the risks posed by the new technologies must be understood, assessed, and the challenges they pose met. If these technology risks can be managed, the payoffs will be considerable and the resultant cost declines could result in PV being rolled out at an unprecedented scale right across Europe. 00:00:00 Introduction 00:04:32 Frédéric Dross | Technical risks of large format modules 00:16:54 Jay Lin | Risks of cell cracking of large format modules 00:25:55 George Touloupas | Aspects of quality of large format modules 00:37:30 Stefan Roest | Measurement challenges of large format modules 00:42:13 Panel Discussion | Ensuring large format module quality, challenges in system integration 00:44:56 Hongbin Fang | Panel discussion | Longi Solar 00:51:17 Simon Meijer | Panel discussion | Coolback Company 00:54:49 Josep Tienda | Panel discussion | Shoals Technologies 00:59:16 Cormac Gilligan | Panel discussion | IHS Markit 01:03:45 Panel Discussion Continued 01:14:44 Robert van Keulen | Inside Growatt's Generation X inverter series and the 5-step quality system 01:28:04 Jonathan Gifford | Unplugged: When non-common cable solutions go bad 01:33:22 Panel discussion 2 | Don't transfer, manage: Tackling risks as technologies change 01:34:42 Andrea Viaro | Panel discussion 2 | Stäubli Electrical Connectors 01:40:03 Frédéric Dross | Panel discussion 2 | Senergy Technical Services 01:45:57 Ragna Schmidt-Haupt | Panel discussion 2 | Everoze 01:52:54 Panel discussion 2 | Questions 01:58:04 Lindsey Wiedmann | Holistic quality: Emerging importance of supply chains and ESG 02:09:18 Questions 02:10:56 End of Cornerstone Session 1 --- Find out more about the event: https://www.pv-magazine.com/pv-magazine-events/roundtables-europe-2021/ Visit our website: https://www.pv-magazine.com/ Follow us on Social Media & subscribe to our channel! SOLARABIC WEBINAR on The Transition to High Power PV Modules in North and West Africa
At this webinar, Alexandre Minuzzo, STS president, shared a great presentation on the evolution of PV modules behind the increase in size and power and more importantly how to guard against the risks associated with large modules based on the inspection services STS provides.
Q4 2020 STS Webinar on Larger Module
At this webinar, STS presented a hot discussion on the wafer supply chain and its impacts on the modules. During the Q&A session, STS also shared some valuable opinions from its 10-years of in-factory experience and PV manufacturing data collection: - Do you see already a lot of large wafers in manufacturing? - What is STS doing to reduce risks related to large wafers and panels? -What is recommended to do to assure maximum limitation on LeTID problem in PERC modules？
